Wahala for legend! Cristiano Ronaldo latest move don shock everybody.
The Portuguese Football Federation gave Ronaldo a 30-day suspension and €255 fine (about ₦400k) for leaving the national team camp without permission in September.
What Really Happened?
Ronaldo vexed after coach Jorge Jesus keep am for bench during Portugal 2-1 win over Norway. He said the coach promise am 30 minutes but no bring am in, even after he warm up. He then waka comot from camp for Copenhagen on September 30 and fly go back to Al Nassr.
But in a very confident and mature decision, Ronaldo post a long 2,000-word apology:
"I should not have done it. The responsibility is exclusively mine. My actions deserve punishment, and as captain, I should receive aggravated punishment."
No pride, no blame - just full confidence to accept his mistake.
The federation said because he show remorse, cooperate with investigation, and because of his huge contributions (Euro 2016, 5 Ballon d'Or, 146 goals for Portugal), dem give am minimum punishment - just 30 days, backdated from September 30. So he don already serve 19 days and will be free by October 30.
He will be eligible to return on November 14 vs Denmark.
And at club side? Man still dey fire! He scored last week for Al Nassr 3-0 win over Diriyah - that na his 980th career goal, 49 goals ahead of Messi!
Ronaldo talk say: "If I am physically fit, playing for my club, scoring goals, I will be available, as I have always been, to compete and win for our national team."
At 41, CR7 still confident say he go make World Cup 2026. True GOAT mentality.
