Yesterday I went to Abbi main market and I decided to ask 10 people how much they make in a day. Their answers really shocked me and taught me lesson.
1. Mama Selling Akara - N3,000 daily profit.
She said she buys beans N2,000, oil N1,000 and she makes N6,000 sales. Profit N3,000. She has been selling akara for 12 years and she used it to train 3 children.
2. Okada Rider - N5,000 daily;
He said fuel now is expensive but he still makes N5,000 to N7,000 daily after buying fuel. But police and bad road dey worry am.
3. POS Girl - N2,500 daily;
She said she charges N100 per N5,000. In a day she does like 50 transactions. Profit about N2,500. She said market day is better.
4. Tailor - N4,000 daily
He said he doesn't make money everyday. Some days zero. But when he has 3 clothes to sew, he makes N4,000.
What shocked me is that none of them have certificate, but they make more than some office workers.
It taught me that business no matter how small, is better than waiting for white collar job.
