Obi, who was in Enugu State on Thursday for a private function, made a stop at the family house of the deceased supporter in Coal City area. The visit was emotional as the mother of the boy could not control her tears when she saw Obi.

According to reports, Chineme was one of Obi's staunch supporters who attended a rally in 2024 and was shot by unknown gunmen. The case has been in court since then without justice.

Peter Obi who shared the visit on his X handle, said he will continue to fight for justice for all Nigerians who have lost their lives due to bad governance and insecurity. He said Nigeria must become a country where every life matters and where nobody dies because of politics.

He also donated some money to the family for the education of Chineme's younger siblings and promised to pay for their school fees till university level.

Many Nigerians on social media have praised Obi for his kind gesture, saying he is the only politician who remembers his supporters after elections. Others said this is what true leadership should be.

The family thanked Obi and prayed for him, saying their son would have been happy to see him.

Should politicians be held responsible when their supporters are attacked?
