The Wright brothers also sent a letter of request to Smithsonian institution for information about flight experiments in 1899, alongside with his brother Orville Wright designed their first aircraft, this was a small biplane glider flown as a cat to test their solution for controlling the craft by wing-warping.

Furthermore, the Wright brothers succeeded with glider test, then they built and tested a full size glider and choose Kitty hawk North Carolina as their test site.

Subsequently, the Wright brothers were able to test their 50 pounds biplane glider with its 17-foot wingspan and wing-warping mechanism at Kitty hawk and 1990.
