Have you been seeing Temu adverts everywhere saying you will get free clothes, free gadgets and 90% discount? I also saw it and I decided to test if Temu is legit or scam, especially for people in Nigeria and UK.
What is Temu?
Temu is an online shopping app like Jumia and AliExpress. They sell clothes, shoes, electronics, and home items for very cheap price. The company is from China and they are spending millions on adverts in UK, USA and Nigeria.
Is Temu Legit or Scam?
Yes, Temu is a legit shopping app and not a scam. Many people in UK and USA have ordered and received their items. It is owned by PDD Holdings, a big company. But it has its own issues you need to know.
My Honest Experience After Research:
1. Price: The price is truly cheap. A shoe that is N25k in Nigeria market is N8k on Temu. But shipping fee will add. In UK, price is cheaper than Amazon for same item.
2. Shipping to Nigeria and UK:
For UK buyers: Delivery is 7-14 days, very fast and free on first order over £20.
For Nigeria: Temu does not ship directly to Nigeria for now. You need to use a shipping agent or freight forwarder. Some agents in Lagos charge $5-$10 for shipping.
3. Quality: Quality is average, like AliExpress. Not original Nike but wearable. For UK buyers, quality is okay for the price. Don't expect N100k quality for N5k item.
4. Refund Policy: Temu does refund easily if your item does not come. They have 90-day free return in UK and US. For Nigeria using agent, refund is harder.
Final Verdict: Should You Buy From Temu?
Temu is legit and not scam, but if you are in Nigeria, be careful because of shipping agent cost. If you are in UK, you can order safely but check reviews first.
