I Wanted Love, Life Gave Me a Lesson Instead

All I ever wanted was someone to hold my hand and say, “I’ve got you.”

Someone who would see the soft parts of me and protect it  not use it.

But life doesn’t always give you what you want.

It gives you what you need… and sometimes, what you need is a painful wake-up call.

I loved deeply. Genuinely. Silently hoping that love would be enough.But instead of love, I got ignored. I got used. I got played.

And that pain? It changed me.It made me realize that love isn’t about how much you give, it’s about how much you value yourself.

It taught me that peace is better than attention. That soft hearts need boundaries.

That “forever” is just a word until actions prove it.

Now, I move differently. I protect my space. I don’t beg for love.

Because the lesson life gave me?Was to love myself first  loud, fully, and without apology.

And next time love comes around, I’ll be ready… but wiser. 🌹
