Sarolangun, August 3, 2025 — In an effort to support the national food self-sufficiency program, Babinsa of Koramil 420-04/Sarolangun, Kodim 0420/Sarko, Koptu Safaruddin took direct action in the field by assisting farmers in weeding agricultural land owned by residents in Lidung Village, Sarolangun District, Sarolangun Regency.
With great enthusiasm, Koptu Safaruddin, together with the landowner Ziul, carried out the weeding of water spinach plants. This activity aims to optimize plant growth and significantly increase harvest yields. "Weeding is an essential step in crop care. Weeds compete with crops for soil nutrients and can hinder the growth of water spinach. We hope that with this assistance, Mr. Ziul's harvest will be more abundant," said Koptu Safaruddin during the activity.
This effort is also part of Babinsa's assistance program to farmers, representing the TNI’s real commitment to improving community welfare through strengthening the agricultural sector. The direct involvement of territorial officers is expected to motivate farmers to continue boosting production and maintain food security in their regions.
"Babinsa is not only present for security matters but is also ready to assist the community in various sectors, including agriculture. We want the food self-sufficiency program to bring real benefits to the people," he added.
With the spirit of mutual cooperation and collaboration between Babinsa and farmers, Lidung Village and its surrounding areas are expected to become a model of successful food security based on local self-reliance.
