Former Super Eagles captain and coach, Sunday Oliseh, has launched a fresh attack on John Obi Mikel.
Speaking in a viral podcast on The Play Zone, Oliseh revealed that the Nigeria Football Federation warned him not to invite Mikel, Vincent Enyeama and Emmanuel Emenike when he became coach.
He said the NFF told him the three players were chaotic to the system.
Oliseh said he used his personal money to travel to London to meet Mikel and Victor Moses, but Mikel refused to show up and did not even reply his WhatsApp message.
He said Mikel felt he was bigger because he was playing for Chelsea at that time.
“Where did you play football that I didn’t play? What did you play that I did not play?” Oliseh asked, saying Mikel disrespected the national team coach position.
Oliseh also said current Super Eagles players are not good enough, which is why Nigeria failed to qualify for 2026 World Cup and lost 3-0 to Guinea-Bissau.
The comments have sparked massive reactions from Nigerians on social media.
