This article explored a unique app that rewards users financially for not touching their phones—while simultaneously annoying them to test their willpower. Through a personal week-long experiment, analysis of the app’s mechanics, and psychological insights, we uncovered how this app gamifies digital detox by turning phone avoidance into a challenge with monetary rewards.
