I tried to register for YEIDEP through my partner bank yesterday, but instead of completing the registration, I received this frustrating message:

"Sorry, you have been blocked."

I almost paid an agent ₦2,000 to help me unblock the registration. Thank God I did not!

After trying to understand what happened, I discovered something important that I want other Nigerians to know before they waste their money paying people who claim they can unblock their registration.

Why Did I Receive the "Sorry, You Have Been Blocked" Message?

One possible explanation is website security protection.

Some websites use a security service called Cloudflare to protect their platforms against suspicious traffic, automated requests, and other potential security threats.

When a website's security system flags a connection or request, it may display a message saying that access has been blocked.

This does not automatically mean that you have been disqualified from YEIDEP or that your registration has been rejected.

However, the exact reason for the block cannot be determined from that message alone. It could be related to your network, browser settings, security checks, or another website configuration issue.

Can You Pay an Agent ₦2,000 to Unblock Your Registration?

Please be careful!

I almost made this mistake myself. Someone could easily take advantage of people who are desperate to complete their YEIDEP registration.

Do not pay random agents who promise to remove a website security block, guarantee your registration, or fast-track your application.

Use the official YEIDEP and partner bank channels to ask for assistance. Nobody should demand an unofficial payment from you to bypass a website security restriction.

What Should You Do If Your YEIDEP Registration Is Blocked?

If you encounter this problem, try these steps:

  1. Stop using suspicious links: Avoid registration links forwarded through random WhatsApp groups or social media accounts.
  2. Visit the official website: Navigate to the partner bank's official website yourself and look for the relevant YEIDEP registration instructions.
  3. Use the official mobile app where applicable: If the bank provides an official registration option through its app, follow its published instructions.
  4. Try again later: A temporary security restriction may sometimes disappear after some time.
  5. Check your browser and network: Close unnecessary tabs, update your browser, and try a normal connection without suspicious proxies or VPN services.
  6. Contact the bank: If the problem continues, contact the bank through its verified customer support channels.

Do not assume that an old shortened link is definitely responsible for the problem. However, it is safer to use registration links published directly by the official bank or programme.

Beware of YEIDEP Registration Scammers

Another important thing I want Nigerians to understand is that online registration problems can create opportunities for scammers.

Some people may claim they can:

  • Unblock your YEIDEP registration.
  • Guarantee your selection.
  • Fast-track your application.
  • Add your name to a beneficiary list.
  • Complete your registration for an unofficial fee.

Do not believe every person making these promises.

Never share your BVN, bank password, PIN, or OTP with an agent or stranger. If a legitimate banking process requires an OTP, enter it only through the bank's verified and secure channel. Never disclose it to another person.

This Is My Personal Experience, Not an Accusation Against Any Bank

I want to make something clear: I am not saying that the partner bank is scamming people.

I am simply sharing what happened when I tried to register and the warning message I received.

My concern is about individuals online who may take advantage of people experiencing registration difficulties by demanding money to supposedly unblock their accounts.

I almost lost ₦2,000 because I thought paying someone might solve the problem. Thankfully, I decided not to pay.

Final Thoughts

If you are trying to register for YEIDEP and receive the message "Sorry, you have been blocked", don't panic and don't rush to pay an agent.

The message may be related to the website's security system, but you should contact the official partner bank to establish the actual cause.

Use official registration channels, protect your banking information, and be careful about people promising special access in exchange for money.

I am sharing this experience so that someone else will not lose ₦2,000 the way I almost did.
