Impact of Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) in Kenya.

Follow

The Government of Kenya changed the 8-4-4 system of education to Competency Based Curriculum, popularly known as CBC, it was introduced in December 2017. It's main target is to deliver learning as well as to evaluate strengths and weakness of the learners because it's based mostly on skills.

However it has  both the positive and negative impacts, the positive side is that the students get to know the basics in skill work and more so improves their talents, this can help them in future.

The negative side of it is that, it's not affordable to all parents being that some requirements are quite expensive, more so the parents in rural areas. It's quite a good system but not affordable to all schools.
