How to build your self esteem

 

 

 

Building self-esteem is an important and ongoing process, you are worthy of self-esteem and self-love and you deserve to feel confident in your skin. We all need to feel a sense of belonging,  you cannot live a life of solitude. You probably can but you'll be miserable. Here are routines you need to put into place if you're looking to build your self-worth:

 

Do something as often as you can to make you feel a sense of accomplishment. It could be big or small and it doesn't have to make sense to anybody else. If possible make it a challenge, it could be speaking up for yourself in a gathering, finally saying no to a request that does not resonate with you. 

 

Stop berating yourself each time you make a mistake. If a thing did not work out for you do not beat yourself up over it. You need to learn how to be a better friend to yourself. Mistakes happen so we can learn from them. After all, our flaws are the very thing that makes us human.

 

Start engaging in creative activities. Pick up a creative hobby, switch up your routine, or do something productive each day it could be going to the gym, joining a book club, or starting a YouTube channel.

 

Stop comparing yourself to others. The moment you start looking for things you feel you do not have in other people, you're killing yourself. There's this song that goes like this,

"It's good to be me,

It's good to know you.

It's great to be different but together

There's no need to be in anyone's shoes,

I'm happy to be the me I am."

If you constantly compare yourself to others you'll never see all the qualities that make you special.

 

Adhering to these mindful activities would skyrocket your self-esteem. Keep in mind that building self-esteem is a journey, not a destination. It takes time and effort to truly believe in yourself but at the end of the day, it is all with it. You are amazing, all the best.
