Almost Married to the Wrong Man: Chapter 26

Chapter 26 Questioning a man's capabilityShe instinctively took a step back.

Kane gave her a once-over, despite her disheveled appearance, he couldn't deny her beauty.

The red dress she wore outlined her allure.

His gaze darkened involuntarily, but remembering how she had hurt him multiple times, he only wanted to catch her and settle the score.

He stepped out of the car, "Seems like we have quite the connection, don't we?"

Callie turned and bolted, but with his previous experiences, Kane was quick to block her path, "Where do you think you're going?"

Callie's face turned pale with fear. She knew all too well what kind of man he was.

"Callie, right? Did you grow up eating ginseng or something? Do you have any idea how much my nose bled after you hit me?" Kane had never been 'bullied' like this before!

She was the first!

As he spoke, he advanced step by step.

Callie, barefoot and holding her high heels, kept retreating.

Her eyes were filled with caution as she watched him.

Henry, who had returned, saw this scene just in time. He quickly got out of the car and stepped between Callie and Kane, "President Ortiz, have you had too much to drink?"

Kane noticed Henry raising an eyebrow. "You're the one who's drunk."

"Did you forget what President Robinson said?" Henry reminded him deliberately, knowing exactly what Kane was up to.

Kane's eyes flickered for a moment before he chuckled. "I haven't forgotten."

He didn't confront Henry head-on; after all, the person wasn't going to escape!

Turning around, he walked towards his car, glancing back at Callie.

Callie shrank back, reaching out towards Henry for protection.

"I'll take you home," Henry said.

Callie followed him to the car. Once inside, she asked, "Didn't you leave?"

Henry had said he left.

Halfway through, he received a call from Shane Robinson, asking him to bring Callie back. That's why he had returned.

Callie thought he had come back for something important and didn't press further, sitting quietly in the car.

Henry couldn't help but glance at her face again. "Did President Robinson hit you?"

He just couldn't resist his gossipy nature!

Whether it was Belinda or Shane who hit her, it was all the same to her.

She bent down to rub her ankle. "Almost there."

Henry kept his eyes straight ahead, not daring to glance sideways.

Soon, the car arrived at the villa, and Callie got out.

When she entered the house, Mrs. Ford asked if she had eaten. Callie replied that she had, and then she went upstairs.

She opened her laptop.

Ding ding.

The computer chimed with a notification.

Her previous application had been approved, and she was now an online medical consultant.

The pay was based on the time spent online and the number of questions answered.

It wasn't a career she could rely on long-term, but it was a good side job.

For now, it was at least somewhat related to her medical background.

She went to grab some clothes, planning to take a shower and change out of her current outfit.

Just as she was about to leave, another notification sounded.

This time, it was a consultation request.

However, whether due to a mistake in her profile or a system error, the inquiry was from a male patient.

The question was about a male issue: "Why can't I get it up?"

As a doctor, there was no distinction between male and female patients, but there were different fields of expertise.

She wasn't particularly skilled in Andrology, but since this was her first patient, she answered with patience.

"May I ask, are you married? How old are you?"

"No. I'm twenty."

"At what age did you start engaging in that kind of activity?"

"Sixteen years old, using my hand. I've been doing it for four years now. When I had my first girlfriend, I couldn't perform. *crying emoji*"

"Please don't panic or worry too much. This might be due to overuse. Try to avoid such activities for a while, strengthen your body, and maintain a regular lifestyle. It should improve over time."

"I don't want to go to the hospital, that's why I'm asking online... Can I take some supplements to strengthen my body? Do you have any recommendations?"

Callie stared at her computer screen, frowning deeply.

"I have, but taking medication is like borrowing from your body's future. I don't recommend it. If you don't overdo it, you should return to normal."

The patient asked again, "I saw your profile, you're a female doctor. Can I ask, how long do women expect men to last to be satisfied?"

Callie replied, "The longer, the better?"

"Okay, thank you."

Callie sent a "You're welcome" message, then stood up to grab her clothes and headed for a shower.

Soon, the sound of running water filled the bathroom, masking the sound of the door opening.

Shane Robinson walked in, glancing towards the bathroom. His mind flashed back to the day her towel had slipped off...

Her body...

His imagination filled in the blanks, picturing her standing naked under the shower-head. His brows furrowed deeply, a look of intense frustration crossing his face. Was he losing his mind?

Why did he keep having thoughts about her?

He turned to leave, but just then, a notification sound came from the laptop Callie had left on the sofa.

Curious about what was on the computer, he glanced back and walked over to take a look.

Callie hadn't closed the chat window before she left.

The same patient had sent another message: "Do you think watching adult films can help with my male performance issues?"

Shane squinted his eyes. What kind of message was this?

He reached out and scrolled through the previous chat history with the mouse.

The more he read, the deeper his frown became.

That woman was discussing such intimate matters with men online?

Another message popped up: "Are you married? Is your husband satisfied? How long does he last? Are you happy with your sex life?"

Shane stared at the messages, his eye twitching in irritation.

Callie walked out wearing her pajamas. Her sleepwear was conservative, with long sleeves top and pants, revealing only her delicate neck. She was drying her hair and didn't seem surprised to see Shane in the room.

After all, this was his place, and if he wanted to come and go, there was nothing she could do about it.

"Even though this is your house, it's not very polite to snoop through other people's things without permission, is it?" she said, her tone calm but firm.

She walked over and closed the laptop with a snap. "Peeking into someone else's privacy is hardly the act of a gentleman."

Shane looked up, his expression stern. "Callie, you're married now. You should act like it. What kind of nonsense are you spouting?"

The thought of her discussing such matters with another man, as if she were being unfaithful, was something he couldn't accept.

"Haven't you already seen it?" Callie ignored his anger, knowing that this man was always angry about something. Her gaze was cool, with a hint of mockery. "Do you have any issues you need consulting on? I can give you answers right here."

Shane's face turned icy cold in an instant. Was she questioning his abilities as a man?

"Callie Norris!"

She hugged the laptop and bolted.

Having dealt with Shane before, she knew that as long as she ran fast enough, he couldn't do anything to her.

Shane watched the woman run away at lightning speed, feeling both exasperated and amused. Did she really just run off?

Suddenly, his phone buzzed.

He pulled out his phone and heard Henry's voice on the other end.

Belinda wanted to see him. Shane immediately said, "No."

Henry hesitated for a moment. "She seems to have an urgent matter..."

"What could she possibly want?" Shane remained firm.

However, remembering that she had once saved his life, he decided to show some leniency.

"She said she has a good friend named Callie who is currently out of work. She wants her friend to join her and intern at the Second Military District General Hospital. She's asking if you could do her this one favor."
