Why are most people opting for skilled based jobs and living behind cooperate jobs
Most form four graduate these days are choosing with skill jobs more than white collar jobs and what might be the reason for this change in our job environment
Let me sit you down and explain into details the major reasons that are causing these drastic changes in our job market
In the past skill-based jobs were seen as unpleasant jobs and not most people would prescribe these types of jobs to you. Most people opted for higher education in universities.
Some of these reasons include;
1. Heavy saturation in the job market; every year there are many students graduating from universities but yet not many people are leaving the job market, so you find that not many students are absorbed into the job market thus leaving a heavy number of students who have graduated unemployed.
2. Brutality of the job market; as graduates go seeking for employment the job market treats them brutally as many institutions are not willing to hire people who lack experience they put down specifications such as you must have at least five years of experience so as to land the job, which most of them lack.
3. The cost of higher education is higher; paying fees in institutions of higher learning is much more expensive than paying for tvet or collages in collages education is cheaper than in universities here economical reasons force you to choose skills over cooperate jobs
4. Time period; skills take a shorter time to study as compared to cooperate jobs to study a skill it can take you at least a period of at least two years at most while cooperate jobs take four to six years or even eight if you are studying medicine
5. Skills offer self-employment; the best thing about learning skills the fact that you don’t depend on employment you can easily employ your self and start your own business the only thing you have to look out for is permits to operate the business so as to avoid problems with the government
