Bathin Solapan , Bengkalis.— The distribution of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) in Balai Makam Village has stirred controversy among residents due to allegations of poor transparency and procedural irregularities. The BLT distribution, held on a public holiday (Sunday, August 10, 2025), was reportedly carried out without the involvement of key village stakeholders, including the Bhabinkamtibmas (community police), the Village Consultative Body (BPD), the Babinsa (village military officer), and the Village Secretary (Sekdes).
Many residents expressed frustration over the process, claiming they were left in the dark about how recipients were selected and whether the funds reached those who truly qualified.
> “We have no idea how the selection process was carried out, and we’re not sure if the aid actually went to the people who deserve it,” said one villager on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Residents also criticized the choice of timing for the distribution, arguing that conducting it on a public holiday reduced opportunities for monitoring and oversight.
> “We couldn’t supervise the process because there were no appointed officials present to ensure transparency,” another villager remarked.
As of now, Balai Makam Village authorities have yet to issue an official statement addressing the public’s concerns. Nevertheless, the incident has fueled doubts about the effectiveness of the BLT program in the area and whether it genuinely benefits those in need.
Locals are calling on the village administration to improve future distribution processes by enhancing transparency, accountability, and public involvement to restore trust and ensure fair allocation of aid.
