Part 2 — Wetin I Do With My NERSI ₦50,000 (And The Mistake Wey Almost Finish Me)

After I collect my ₦50,000 for road that day, I run go house like person wey win lottery.

My mama dey for parlour dey peel yam. I enter, I shout, "Mama! E don enter! ₦50,000 don enter!"

Mama look me, e say, "Tunde, you don dey shout since morning. Na which money?"

I show am my OPay. Mama shout, "Jesus!" E drop knife, e hug me.

For that moment, I feel like Dangote. ₦50,000 for my hand for this Tinubu economy? I be big boy!

When Everybody Suddenly Remembered Me

But my problem start that night.

My phone no rest. WhatsApp messages dey enter like rain.

My friend, Emeka: "Guy, abeg borrow me 10k, I go pay you next week."

My girlfriend, Blessing: "Baby, I don see one fine wig for ₦25,000. You go buy am for me?"

My younger brother: "Bro, make we go flex, buy suya and shawarma."

Everybody suddenly remember me. Even people wey no dey greet me before, dem start to dey call me "Chairman".

I nearly fall for am. I nearly go buy that wig for Blessing. I nearly go flex with my brother.

But Mama call me for room that night. Mama sit me down.

Mama say, "Tunde, listen. This ₦50,000 na seed, no be enjoyment money. If you chop am today, tomorrow you go hungry again. Use am to plant something wey go dey give you money everyday."

That word enter my brain.

How I Divided My ₦50,000

Next morning, I sit down, I divide the money like this:

₦20,000 — I Buy Data and Start LODPOST Seriously

I don dey hear say LODPOST dey pay for qualifying article views. I see one dashboard example with a $7 CPM, so I decide to take my writing seriously.

I reason am say, if I write better stories like this one, more people fit read my articles and I fit earn from qualifying monetized views.

My calculation be say 143 monetized views at a $7 CPM fit bring approximately $1. But I know say actual earnings depend on monetized views, traffic quality and other platform conditions. No be every 143 ordinary views go automatically give me $1.

I say, make I invest in data, improve my writing and take my online hustle seriously.

₦15,000 — I Give Mama for Shop

Mama dey sell pepper for market. I add am to her capital make she buy more stock.

Mama promise say as the business dey grow, e go dey give me small profit every week.

I happy because instead of spending all the money, I don support something wey fit continue to bring income.

₦10,000 — I Keep for Emergency

I put am for OPay locked savings.

I swear say I no go touch am unless na serious emergency.

At least, if unexpected problem show face, I no go need to start begging people for money.

₦5,000 — I Flex Small

Yes, I be human being!

I buy suya ₦2,000. I buy cold malt for me and Baba Musa wey help me. I send Blessing ₦3,000, I tell am, "Baby, manage this one, wig go come later."

Blessing vex small, but later e understand.

One Month Later, Wetin Happen?

One month later, I begin notice some changes.

My LODPOST stories don dey attract readers, and I start seeing earnings in my dashboard. Some days, the fictional example for my story shows $1 or $2, depending on the traffic and monetized views.

Mama shop don grow small. According to our story, the business dey give me ₦2,000 every Saturday.

My ₦10,000 emergency savings still dey intact.

My friend Emeka wey collect him own ₦50,000, e use am buy iPhone 11 second hand. Now e dey complain say phone don spoil, money don finish, e no get anything.

Me? I feel better because I no spend everything at once. I use part of the money to support a small business, invest in my writing and keep something for emergencies.

The Second Lesson I Learned

That day I learn second lesson:

Na no be how much you collect, na how you use am.

Money fit finish quickly if you no get plan for am. But when you budget properly, save something and invest carefully, even small money fit become a starting point for something bigger.

NERSI na one time. But wisdom na forever.

Moral of the Story

If your own ₦50,000 enter tomorrow, no rush go buy wig first. No rush go buy iPhone. Sit down, plan your money and think about how to make it useful beyond today.

Save part of it, support a sensible business idea, invest in useful skills or tools, and still allow yourself a small amount to enjoy.

Remember, business can make profit or loss, and online earnings are never guaranteed. Plan carefully and do not invest money you cannot afford to lose.

Wetin You Go Do With Your Own ₦50,000?

Wetin you go do if your own ₦50,000 enter today?

You go save am, start small business, invest in your skills, buy something you need or use am enjoy yourself?

Tell me for comment — make I see who get sense pass!
