Romeo and Juliet

In 2014, at Ho Chiu-ying's funeral, even her father, Stanley Ho, did not attend, but Fok Chun-ting was seen busily working.

Fok Chun-ting's mother, Lui Yin-nei, and Ho Chiu-ying's mother, Clementina Leitao, were originally good friends.

The two often met to play mahjong, go shopping, and chat.

Thus, Fok Ying-tung and Stanley Ho became acquainted and began business collaborations.

Fok Chun-ting and Ho Chiu-ying had been inseparable since childhood, growing up together.

Even attending different schools as they grew older did not affect their friendship.

At the time, both families fully approved of their relationship.

However, later, Stanley Ho and Fok Ying-tung had business disagreements, and conflicts arose over business interests.

This led to a breakdown in relations between the two families, resulting in a complete estrangement.

Ho Chiu-ying and Fok Chun-ting were forced to separate as a result.

Later, under Stanley Ho's arrangement, Ho Chiu-ying hastily married Siu Pak-shing, the son of Siu Ming, a Hong Kong funeral industry tycoon.

On their wedding night, not only did Ho Chiu-ying weep uncontrollably, but Fok Chun-ting was also heartbroken.

Watching his beloved marry someone else, Fok Chun-ting was deeply distressed and devoted himself entirely to his career, refusing to consider marriage.

It wasn't until eight years later, when he met Chu Ling-ling, that the 31-year-old Fok Chun-ting began to consider marriage again.

However, Ho Chiu-ying's life after marrying into the Siu family was not happy.

Siu Pak-shing came from a wealthy family and had excellent prospects, but he was a philandering playboy, frequently indulging in debauchery and womanizing.

Even though Ho Chiu-ying gave birth to his beloved daughter, she couldn't persuade him to settle down and live a peaceful life.

It wasn't until the eleventh year of their marriage, with Stanley Ho's permission, that Ho Chiu-ying finally divorced Siu Pak-shing. After her divorce, Ho Chiu-ying left Hong Kong with her daughter, wandering from place to place.

Fourteen years later, she returned to Hong Kong to find everything changed. Her mother had passed away, her father had remarried three or four times, and she had many children, leaving her homeless.

Later, Ho Chiu-ying passed away. Stanley Ho refused to attend the funeral, citing the inauspiciousness of an elderly person burying their child.

Upon learning of this, Fok Chun-ting not only provided financial and logistical support for Ho Chiu-ying's daughter, siblings, and other relatives in handling the funeral arrangements, but also personally attended the ceremony.

At Ho Chiu-ying's funeral, Fok Chun-ting was visibly moved.

Ho Chiu-ying's funeral was the simplest in the Ho family's history, with no business tycoons present, and not even a tombstone.

It was only with Fok Chun-ting's help that all of Ho Chiu-ying's funeral arrangements were completed.

Originally a perfect couple, their love was severed due to the interests of their parents.

Two young people missed their chance at life because of this.

If Ho Chiu-ying had married Fok Chun-ting as she wished 40 years ago, perhaps their lives would have been very different.
