I am Amanda, 32 years old, from Florida. I live with my husband Jake and his mother, Diane, 58. Diane moved in with us 2 years ago after her husband died. Since then, my life has been hell.

She controls everything. She tells Jake what to eat, what to wear, and she always tells him I am lazy.

Two weeks ago, my mom died. My mom was my best friend. I was broken. I had to travel to Ohio for her funeral. I was gone for 3 days - Friday to Sunday.

Jake could not come with me because he had to work. So I left him and Diane in our house. Our house is in MY name. I bought it before we married with my inheritance from my grandmother.

On Sunday night, I came back at 11 PM. Tired, crying, eyes swollen. I tried to open the door. My key did not work. The lock was changed.

I knocked. Diane opened the door with a smile and said: "Oh, you're back? We changed the locks. This house is too small for 3 people. Jake and I decided you should find another place. You can stay in a hotel tonight."

I was in shock. My own husband was standing behind her, looking down, saying nothing.

I said "Jake, this is MY house! My mom just died!"

He said "Mom is right, Amanda. You are always disrespectful to her. We need space."

I left. I went to my car and slept in my car that night. I was homeless at 11 PM, 2 days after burying my mother.

But they forgot one important thing.

I have Ring cameras inside and outside the house. And a hidden camera in the living room that I installed 6 months ago because Diane was stealing money from my purse.I

opened my phone and watched the footage from the last 3 days.

I saw everything.

I saw Diane on Friday packing all my clothes into trash bags and throwing them in the garage. I saw her telling Jake "If you don't kick her out, I will leave and you will never see me again. Choose - your wife or your mother."

I saw Jake helping her change the locks on Saturday morning.

I saved all the videos.

Monday morning, I went to a lawyer. I showed him the videos and the house deed.

My lawyer sent them a letter: They have 24 hours to leave MY house, or I will call the police for illegal eviction and show the judge the videos.

They left in 6 hours. Jake begged me on the phone, crying. I said "You chose your mother over your grieving wife. Now live with your choice. I want a divorce."

Yesterday, the locksmith changed the locks again. This time, only I have the key.

I am now alone in my house, but at peace. My mom would be proud I stood up for myself.

Lesson: Always have cameras in your own house. And never let your mother-in-law move in.
