Last time, my husband and I visited the "Nissin Cup Noodles Museum" in Ikeda, Osaka, and the instant noodle DIY activity was quite fun.

Unexpectedly, while planning our Hong Kong trip, we suddenly discovered that there is also a "Nissin Cup Noodles Museum" in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Basically, it is a mini-branch of Nissin in Hong Kong, and they also have instant noodle DIY.

This time, we will take the kids with us.

You can tell this place has a lot of history, and of course, it is very crowded.

Continuing to follow the navigation on my phone.

This street has small shops, international brands, and large department stores, making it a great place to shop.

If you have enough time, you could easily spend half a day here.

Especially this huge Apple store, with its incredibly high ceilings on the second floor, it must be a lot of fun to try things out inside.

First time there, how do you find "Cup Noodles" among such a dense concentration of shops?

The navigation led me to "China Hong Kong City,"

But it is actually a mixed-use building combining a shopping mall and a port.

One side is a four- or five-story shopping mall, and the other side faces the sea, which is the pier.

The so-called "Chong qing-Hong Kong" refers to the sea route between China and Hong Kong.

[Cup Noodles Museum] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take photos of giant cup noodles and enjoy DIY instant noodles!

China Hong Kong City is quite complex, especially the floors.

The "Cup Noodles Museum" is located on what "should" be the second floor; you'll find it if you wander around a bit.

The kids were super excited to see this poster because they're obsessed with Blue Lock and they're releasing a collaboration product.

The entrance is here.

Although it is called the "Cup Noodles Museum," you might think it has nothing to do with Nissin.

But its English name is also "Cup Noodles Museum," the same as the one in Osaka.

[Cup Noodles Museum] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take photos of giant cup noodles and enjoy DIY instant noodles!

"Demae Iccho," this seemingly familiar yet somewhat confusing term, actually has a history.

My impression was that it is usually the cheapest instant noodles.

Turns out, in Hong Kong, Nissin Demae Ramen is synonymous with chicken broth instant noodles.

There are three DIY options, and the prices vary.

However, over 95% of people choose "Cup Noodles".

Unlike in Osaka, everyone has to choose one option (a minimum spend, I guess).

The Cup Noodles Museum in Osaka (and even Yokohama) doesn't have a minimum spend requirement.

I just saw these four sentences last month, and I couldn't help but smile.

These are famous quotes by Momofuku Ando, seemingly ordinary yet truly profound.

Instant noodles were invented after World War II to provide affordable and nutritious food for everyone.

[Cup Noodles Museum] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take Photos of Giant Cup Noodles and Enjoy DIY Instant Noodles!

However, the introduction to Momofuku Ando here is much briefer.

In Osaka, there are exquisite decorations and even a replica of the original noodle-making hut.

In Hong Kong, it's just a large information board.

With blue tickets, we arrived at a blue-themed classroom.

Because it's a session-based event, we hope everyone can finish within the allotted time.

Get the cups and start drawing!!

The adults were doing it for the second time, so they were quite skilled.

The children were very focused.

Haha, the dad, who doesn't have much imagination, actually took out his phone and drew his idol.

Unexpectedly, he has quite a talent for drawing.

[Cup Noodles Museum] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take Photos of Giant Cup Noodles and Enjoy DIY Instant Noodles!

I don't know if it was the time of day or... but there weren't many visitors; it was practically nonexistent that day.

So the instant noodle-making window was completely empty, with no one waiting.

Even the staff seemed to be resting in the back, waiting for our group to finish before going over.

Compared to the crowded Cup Noodles Museum in Osaka, it was a world of difference.

[Cup Noodles Museum] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take Photos of Giant Cup Noodles and Enjoy DIY Instant Noodles!

The ladies were drawing very seriously.

[Cup Noodles Museum] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take Photos of Giant Cup Noodles and Enjoy DIY Instant Noodles!

Indeed, they were all drawing their current favorite anime characters.

[Cup Noodles Museum] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take Photos of Giant Cup Noodles and Enjoy DIY Instant Noodles!

The way to choose toppings was also different from Osaka; in Osaka, you just gesture at the window.

In Hong Kong, it's like drawing a menu: you choose a soup base and four toppings, draw them out, and hand them to the staff.

[Cup Noodles Memorial Hall] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take photos of the giant cup noodles and have fun DIY instant noodles!

At the preparation window, the first step: follow the arrow direction, spin six times, and the noodles will fall into the bowl.

[Cup Noodles Memorial Hall] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take photos of the giant cup noodles and have fun DIY instant noodles!

The second step is less interactive.

You simply hand over the order form, and the staff will add the toppings.

[Cup Noodles Memorial Hall] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take photos of the giant cup noodles and have fun DIY instant noodles!

The packaging and sealing process is the same here.

However, in Hong Kong, there's also less interaction.

In Osaka, the staff, despite the language barrier, will still explain the precautions.

In Hong Kong, they just finish their work and hand it to you.

[Cup Noodles Memorial Hall] Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take Photos of Giant Cup Noodles and DIY Instant Noodles - So Much Fun!

The last step was a bit disappointing.

The staff did everything for you, from inflating the packaging to tying it up.

It was a shame, because you can't do this everywhere.

Perhaps there are more young children here, and a large proportion of the activities are kindergarten field trips.

Leaving it all to young children would be a nightmare.

In Osaka, it's mostly families and young people who want to do it themselves; the focus is quite different.

Hehe, we were also carrying four cup noodles around Tsim Sha Tsui that day.

The souvenir shop at the very back.

I remember the souvenir shop in Osaka wasn't very big, and the variety wasn't as great.

This is where Hong Kong wins over Osaka.

On the way back, I walked back to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station along the same route.

I still'm not used to this scene.

The roads are incredibly crowded; even the smallest gaps are filled with pedestrians crossing over. I was really worried for them.

【Cup Noodles Museum】Hong Kong Attraction Recommendation: Take photos of the giant cup noodle and DIY instant noodles – so much fun!

Compared to Hong Kong's instant noodle museums, Osaka is a huge winner!!!

Whether it's the DIY price (500 yen vs. 60 HKD), minimum spending requirement, exhibition size and quality,

Osaka's Ikeda wins.

However, Ikeda's is a bit further from the city center, at least a half-hour tram ride.

Tsim Sha Tsui's is at most a fifteen-minute walk from the city center. The biggest difference is the level of crowding.

At least last time we went to Ikeda, it was incredibly crowded, while Tsim Sha Tsui was much quieter.

It depends on whether your itinerary includes Osaka or Hong Kong; just pick one and see.
