Encouraging Environmentally Friendly Investment, the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) and the Regent of West Tanjab Receive an Audience with Green Energy Investors

The West Tanjung Jabung Regency Government (Tanjab Barat) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable development. On Wednesday (April 9, 2025), the Chairman of Commission II of the West Tanjab DPRD, Suprayogie Syaiful, S.Ip., MH., along with DPRD member Dedi Hadi, SH., accompanied Regent Drs. H. Anwar Sadat, M.Ag., in an audience with potential investors who are developing waste-to-energy and solar power plants.

The meeting, held in the Transit Room of the Regent's Official Residence, discussed two strategic projects: utilizing waste as an energy source and optimizing solar power as an alternative energy source. Both technologies are expected to address waste management challenges and encourage the transition to green energy in West Tanjab.

The Chairman of Commission II of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Suprayogie Syaiful, expressed his full support for the plan to attract investors to the region.

"Of course, we in the legislature fully support this move. This isn't just about investment, but about sustainability and a cleaner and more independent future for West Tanjab," said the young politician from the Golkar Party.

He also emphasized that waste- and solar-based power generation technology is a concrete solution to two crucial problems: waste accumulation and dependence on fossil fuels.

The Chairman of Bolone Mase Jambi Province, Rudi, who also attended the meeting, expressed his commitment to supporting the progress of his home region. "I want West Tanjab to become a region that can attract foreign investors, be energy independent, and grow economically," he said.

Regent Anwar Sadat welcomed the investment plan and emphasized that the regional government is ready to facilitate concrete steps going forward.

"The waste issue is a national challenge, and we see this as an opportunity. This program is not only about cleanliness and the environment, but also about creating jobs, increasing local revenue (PAD), and improving the community's quality of life," he explained.

He added that this hearing will be immediately followed up with technical discussions with relevant regional government agencies (OPD) to ensure its implementation is on target and aligned with the region's potential.

The hearing was also attended by various important parties, including the Head of the OPD, the Chair of the Jambi PSI, experts from the Ministry of Forestry, and several community leaders. This moment marks the first step in collaboration between the government, the legislature, and the private sector in building a green energy ecosystem in West Tanjab.
