The solar system
The sun and nine known planets form what is called"the solar system or the planetary system". planets are spherical bodies.Examples are the earth,Mars, Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. All the planets of the solar system revolve round the sun in elliptical orbits. The path followed by each planet is known as orbit and each orbit is in the shape of an egg round the sun.The sun is in the centre of the planets which does not itself move.It is stationary while all the planets move round it.
All the energy of the planets is derived from the sun by reflection. The surface temperature of the sun is about 6,000°c.No human, animal,or plant life can tolerate such an intense heat from the Sun.
