Does Money Answers all Things?

Ecclesiastes 10:19 (New King James Version)
A feast is made for laughter, And wine makes merry; But money answers everything.

This is an often misused scripture. many Christians have based their prosperity theology on the wrong interpretation of this scripture.

It is obvious that money does not have an answer to everything. Money cannot save ones soul. It cannot heal a broken heart. Money cannot make someone love you. Why then does the Bible seem to say that money is the answer to all things.

The purpose of this verse is to mock these things that so easily distract people. It lists them in increasing order of potency. Feastings or debauchery, then wine and the ultimate deceiver, MONEY. The purpose of this verse is to expose the foolishness of embracing these mindsets. It is a mentality that has become a plague in the world today as deceitful influencers push these thoughts into the lives of many young people causing them to build their sense of value around such a life style.

Even the church has become trapped in the snare of money consciousness. Money has indeed succeeded in convincing many believers that it is the answer to all their problems. Hence the reason you hear so many events around prosperity and earthly wealth creating.

The Bible is clear regarding money

Matthew 6:19 (New Living Translation)
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.

Matthew 6:24 (New Living Translation)
24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

The Bible is clear on how we should regard money, NOT as a master. When the spirit of money wants to convince you that it has the answer to all your troubles simply tell it that it is not your master.

Today, money is the voice that is speaking to many pulpits all over the world. Money is whispering that IT is the most important of all achievements. This is a lie. Devotion to God including all the selflessness that is attached to that is what answers all things. Love is the ultimate achievement of man and because God is love, when we find God we find all things.

1 John 4:16-17
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

Many who embraced the foolish thing called money will surely be afraid on the day of judgement but nobody who lived a life of love will have cause to be afraid. Our prayer should be, God, perfect my love so that I will live like Jesus here in this world.

Prayer
Why don't you whisper this prayer right now. Lord perfect my love for you and my fellow man. Let it show up in my daily life. In the market, on the street, driving on the road, in my office or school and at my church. Lord help me to build up a body of evidence of my love, for the day of judgement.

The day of judgement is approaching, don't leave it till that late to discover that money really does not answer everything.
